The Elder Rights Clinic at Brooklyn Law School (BLS) is hosting an event entitled, “The Right of Passing,” which will feature a debate on the moral and legal issues surrounding euthanasia, and whether certain life ending methods should be characterized as assisted suicide or aid in dying.

Debaters will include David C. Levin, Esq., the Executive Driector of Compassion & Choices of NY and Anne Studholme, Esq., a veteran advocate for several national disability rights groups opposed to the legalization of assisted suicide or aid in dying. Additionally, Constitutional Law Professor Nelson Tebbe, Esq., will provide a brief overview of the law surrounding euthanasia and will moderate the debate.

Sponsorship for this event is provided by The Weinberg Center for Elder Abuse Prevention at the Hebrew Home at Riverdale, The David Berg Center for Law and Aging and Brooklyn Law School’s Elder Law Society. This event is free and open to the public.
