In this webinar presented by the Geriatric Mental Health Association of New York City, Margarita Alegria, PhD, will discuss the findings of the July 2012 Geriatric Mental Health and Substance Abuse Workforce Report, published by the Institute of Medicine. This report confirmed what many people who work with older adults already know: That there are huge gaps in the geriatric mental health workforce and that the United States is not ready to meet the behavioral health challenges of the elder boom. Dr. Alegria’s presentation will focus on diverse racial and ethnic populations; as well as steps that need to be taken to meet the behavioral health needs of elders.

The webinar is open to the public. Registration is required and costs $25.00 per person. To learn more, and to register for this event, click here. To learn more about MHA-NYC, visit their home page.
