Hosted by Jewish Women International‘s (JWI) National Alliance to End Domestic Abuse, this webinar will explore the connection between substance abuse and intimate partner violence. The webinar will focus on best practices for working with perpetrators and victims with co-occurring substance abuse issues, as well as coordination/integration of substance abuse and domestic violence intervention.
Presenters will include Dr. Larry Bennett, a widely-published Professor at Jane Addams College of Social Work, University of Illinois, Chicago with 20 years of experience in community-based mental health settings and independent practice; Dr. Caroline Easton, an international expert on best practice procedures for the treatment of clients with co-occurring addiction and intimate partner violence; and Michelle Wall, Program Director for Angel Step Inn Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter, a shelter with specialized services for domestic violence victims with coexisting substance use disorders.
