Elder Abuse 101 Workshop
Thousands of older adults in New York are abused, neglected, and exploited every year, and the number is growing. JASA’s Elder Abuse Training Institute is an interdisciplinary program, which improves the understanding of and response to the various forms of elder abuse. The Institute educates social service, health, legal, and financial professionals as well as the public.
These workshops are provided by JASA in partnership with Lifespan of Greater Rochester, Inc. and Brookdale Institute for Healthy Aging of Hunter College.

This workshop focuses on red flags that indicate the presence of possible abuse or exploitation. Participants will learn best practices for addressing abuse and working effectively with victims. Information will be provided on how to work with clients who are victims of financial exploitation and scams.
