Presented by a host of collaborating agencies, including the NYC Elder Abuse Center, “Forty Years Later: Why Hasn’t Elder Abuse Also Been in the Spotlight?” is a special Elder & Intergenerational Family Justice Public Awareness Event, which will feature presentations from Bob Blancato, National Coordinator, Elder Justice Coalition, and Rehabilitation Through the Arts (RTA).
Bob Blancato will discuss the evolution of elder abuse prevention, the challenges faced by the elder justice field and promising practices for moving the field forward. A facilitated discussion with local and national leaders, including Kathleen Otte of the Administration on Community Living (ACL), will follow the presentation.
Rehabilitation Through the Arts (RTA) is an organization that believes in the profoundly rehabilitative effect that engaging in the arts has on men and women behind bars. RTA will give a live performance entitled, “Figures in Flight Released,” immediately following the discussion led by Mr. Blancato.
