    New York State Doesn’t Have Mandatory Reporting: Good or Something to Change?

    Cultivating New Elder Justice Professionals: The Risk & Resiliency Internship Project

    The NYC Elder Abuse Center (NYCEAC) engages the next generation of elder justice professionals through the 7-week Risk and Resilience Internship Project (RRIP) co-created with The Legacy Project. RRIP undergraduate interns learn about elder justice by participating in educational experiences aimed at increasing their understanding the aging continuum including challenges such as elder abuse as well as the many positive aspects of later life.

    Older Adults Inspire Undergrads to Pursue Elder Justice

    Two dynamic and engaging students from Cornell University were selected to participate in the "Risk and Resiliency Internship Project" during Summer 2013. Laura Museau and Austin Lee spent their summer with NYCEAC using the The Legacy Project’s interview method to facilitate conversations with older adults, attending NYCEAC trainings, case management meetings and multidisciplinary case conferences and developing content with NYCEAC’s social media team.
